Would you take advantage of condoms at school?
Over 400 public high schools in the country give out condoms, and Philadelphia is about to be joining the bandwagon once students return from winter break. More than twenty high schools are going to be distributing condoms to combat growing STD rates. A spokesperson for the district explains that parents can opt their children out of the program, and says, “It’s a self-service set-up so you can actually walk into the nurse’s office, and there is a dispenser on the wall and you just help yourself to them.” Only ten percent of schools in the United States that provide condoms do so by dispensing them through bowls, baskets, or vending machines.
If you are sexually active, would you take free condoms given out at school? If your school already gives out condoms, do you know of anyone who takes advantage of the program?

@AquaStone316 I believe you missed the point, which shows a lot about your intelligence. The point was that they was ignoring it and being sarcastic… you might want to work on your spelling by the way. And your grammar. Your language skills are atrocious.

I think it’s a good thing, simply because teenagers are going to have sex anyway. You can’t stop them, but you can do your best to encourage safe-sex. Obviously we shouldn’t be encouraged to sleep around, but if teens ARE going to have sex they should at least be safe about it.

This is ridiculous. Why are people arguing about this? Everyone has their right to their own opinion.
I personally think that schools handing out condoms is stupid. They say they are trying to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. The solution to that isnt handing out free condoms so people can have more sex and be at an even bigger risk.
The solution is to teach girls to keep their legs closed and tech guys to keep their pants zipped.

@derekincolor no ive been arguing with him for awhile, he’s gonna be a preacher in some fucked up little Westboro Baptist church. He thinks sex is for the devil or something, he’s crazy.

You know, there’s a much easier way to go about that. It’s called girls learning to keep their legs closed and respect themselves. Seriously, it isn’t rocket science.

Hey @coolcalx guess what? CONDOMS BREAK SO TEENS CAN GET STD’S, HIV, AIDS, AND GET PREGNANT EITHER THEY USE CONDOMS OR NOT!

There are pros and cons, schools are getting smarter and realizing that they are not going to be able to combat the trend of sexualization of our culture. Personally I think that its not a bad idea, it is putting condoms in the hands of the people who generally use them the least, and it is showing that the schools support safe sex. Personally I would use them because I don’t need my girlfriend getting pregnant or me getting any kind of STDs.
I do agree with cheriseade that it is a double edged sword.
