Would you get plastic surgery to avoid bullies?

A fourteen-year-old girl from Georgia was bullied so severely about her ears, that she begged her mother for surgery to have them pinned back. Not able to afford the surgery, her mother looked into a charity that paid to have plastic surgery done on children with severe facial deformities. Not only did they provide ear pinning for the young girl, they also shaved her jaw line and gave her a partial nose job. Click here to see the before and after pics.

Should she have gotten the additional surgeries when she only wanted her ears pinned? Do you think this will be effective to ward off bullies?

She was 14!! she still had growing up to do who knows what she would have looked like in a few years.bullies are jerks but it’s not like you will be around the people forever, so why satisfy them by showing what they say bothers you?

Reading through the comments here I see alot of people saying that it was a silly, premature, and drastic decision. Now, for thoes of you who havent been bullied for somthing like personality or appearance. I can see where your coming from. For thoes of you who have, you’re expereance may not have been the same as Nadia’s. Every bullying case is different no matter what adults try to write it off as. I’ve been bullied for years for some of my physical features and eventually I may have to have surgury for medical reasons, to fix it. I’m just saying each experiance is different and each person has the right to make their own choice.

Really. I hate it when kids bully others about their appearance and things like this happen. It’s really sad, and I wish that she didn’t go through with this.

No one should change who they are simply for looks. I understand that she mustve felt horrible. Ive been bullied before and i tried to change who I am but it does no good. She really only let them win. Sure, they probably stopeed but they dont respect her. They never will. The only way to get rid of bullies is to get in their face and tell them that you love being who you are and no ammount of harsh words will ever change you.

I heard abou that one girl did it on her nose cause she was bullied but like i understand for people who really need it but for just random girls who dont like there appearance sit the **** down! :3
