Would money motivate you not to drink underage?
After his fourteen-year-old daughter Mariah was hit and killed by a twenty-year-old drunk driver, Leo McCarthy offered her classmates to take Mariah’s Challenge in memory of his daughter. He told them at her eulogy, “If you stick with me for four years don’t use alcohol, don’t use illicit drugs but give back to your community, work with your parents and talk to your parents, I’ll be there with a bunch of other people to give you money.”
He gives $1,000 scholarships to those who have taken Mariah’s Challenge.
Would money motivate you to wait until you were twenty-one to drink?

Not really, since I drink occasionally and I never get really, lostly drunk.. Maybe put a limit to how much one can drink and still pay them? That’d be fine (:

Nope,I like my beer and I like my whiskey.
Make it $5,000 CASH and possibly, but even then I could easily work and get $5,000.
The way I see it drinking is like anything else, you have idiots and you have people that are responsible, don’t blame the responsible people for the idiots.
And that means anything from cars, guns, knives, fire etc,I use all of the above daily and im fine, why?Because im not an idiot.

meh wouldnt motivate me if someone offered me that before. Its not money in hand and its lousy amount for abstaining from something fun for 4 years. Not to mention that i believe abstinence is counter productive. As someone said most of the bullshit that happens is done by people that waited for collage to get loose and never tried stuff before, so they want to try everything at once without knowing their limits but suddenly have bunch of privileges they cannot handle.

I don’t understand how he’s going to prove that no one broke the challenge.

18 is the legal drinking age here, and it’s also not cash in hand, so probably not.
