I came across this article on Huffington Post about what it’s like to live in New York City, and I had to share.

It so perfectly captures what it’s like to live here, and what it’s probably like to ultimately leave (I wouldn’t know, I still live here!). And I thought it might be really interesting to any of you who have ever lived here or who desperately want to live here someday like I used to.

Idk, I don’t really miss it lol like it was nice having everything so close, but the weather sucked so much you didn’t want to leave your apartment anyways. The party scene is fun, but even then it’s not something you can do everything cause EVERYTHING is so damn expensive.

its really not all that..dont get me wrong everything is over here..but New York is very expensive to live in..a B.S studio apartment could run you for 900 dollars and up..though shopping wise New York is fun and theres always something to do..i personally am trying to leave lol

People make the city sound so great, when really its just a normal city … Nothing special. I mean its fun to visit but to live in.. Well thats another story. Trust me.

I’ve been there for a week or so during my high school band days.. I was very unimpressed to say the least. I vividly remember the awful subway system and getting lost in it because the held-up-by-tape service change notices are always vandalized or pee’d upon. It was good times though.. sorta.

I really want to go to NYC. Probably not to live, as the Northeast isn’t really my thing (I’m a southern boy! lived in the Northeast for a couple years when I was younger, too cold, bad drivers, a lot of unfriendly/introverted people, etc). I’m just kind of tired of the small town life and need something new and exciting. Things barely ever happen here, I live in the mountains, so my life is boring as F! I’m more of a big city kind of person.

its like an hour away. i barely go though cuz its “too hectic” for my family. i personally dont mind it, i went there with a friend and had fun, theres a lot of places to go and do stuff. just dont get mugged
