Update: Could she have been saved?
The Dominican teenage girl who was at the subject of an abortion debate died after she lost her battle with cancer. The pregnant teen was denied chemo for a period of time because of the Dominican Republic’s strict anti-abortion laws. While she did begin to receive treatment, it was almost a month after she was admitted. Her mother stated, “My daughter’s life is first. I know that (abortion) is a sin and that it goes against the law … but my daughter’s health is first.” She was thirteen weeks pregnant.
Should the teen have received treatment immediately after being admitted despite the strict law?

There was a good chance the girl could’ve been saved if she recieved treatment sooner. These people not only avoided to save this teenage girl’s life but also the babies. I hope they feel guilty, more then one life has been lost. I completely agree with the mother, the girl’s life should’ve been first.
As a catholic I find abortion to be murder and wrong. But because of a “debate” they went as far to risk someone’s life. That is wrong.
