Spring 2006. Friends of a victim of depression and addiction begin to tell the victim’s story with the title To Write Love on Her Arms. The friends sell t-shirts as a way to cover treatment. Shortly later, bands begin to wear the tees on-stage.

Four years later, the non-profit known as TWLOHA raises $850,000 (and counting!) for treatment related to depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. Collectively, TWLOHA also answers over 160,000 emails in over 100 countries. It turns out that their story is also our story.

To Write Love on Her Arms, founded by Jamie Tworkowski, has once again traveled with the Vans Warped Tour in 2011 selling their unmistakable tees. Did you visit their tent this year? If not, you should check out the organization as they have provided a lot of hope for numerous individuals.
