Thor’s Chris Hemsworth offered Snow White movie role

First it was Viggo Mortensen then Hugh Jackman and now…Chris Hemsworth.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the Thor star is being offered the role of the huntsman in the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman co-starring Kristen Stewart.

Hemsworth is a hot commodity after Thor’s massive opening weekend produced $66 million at the box office. However, he is already attached to The Avengers and is reportedly concerned about the shooting schedule getting in the way of Snow White and the Huntsman.

Based on the legendary fairy tale, Snow White and the Hunstman follows the titular princess after the evil queen Ravenna calls for her death, centering on the huntsman who disobeys orders and allows the fair maiden to live.

The updated version is said to break from convention by having the huntsman mentor and train Snow White to fight off Ravenna herself. The movie is tentatively scheduled for a December 2012 release date.
