Team Rage or Team Ryan?
Can music and politics ever coexist? Ultra conservative VP candidate Paul Ryan recently listed Rage Against the Machine as one of his favorite bands. Oops for him! Maybe he isn’t listening to the lyrics. Lead guitarist for the band, Tom Morello, calls Paul Ryan “clueless” about the band’s message, saying, “Paul Ryan’s love of Rage Against the Machine is amusing, because he is the embodiment of the machine that our music has been raging against for two decades.” Ouch!
What do you think of Tom Morello’s comments? Do you think Paul Ryan realized his views were in direct opposition to his favorite tunes?

Ryan rocks. I like Rage, too, but I hate their politics. Music isn’t about politics, it’s about music, so Rage is really pretty stupid saying stuff about Ryan.
I couldn’t care less about anyone’s “message”, I just wanna rock out. So Morello can go suck it! He’s got my money already, since I’ve bought his music, what does he care what I believe? I respect his opinion even if he doesn’t respect mine and I’m sure he doesn’t. But this country was built on different opinions being respected.
I don’t want people telling me what I MUST believe. So Morello can just take a leap off a building if he think I MUST believe him to like his music.

I agree with Grimm420tx, this is just his way of trying to appear “young and likeable” to a younger generation.

well, maybe he likes the intrumentals of the band.. because i’m a conservative myself, and i still think their music is pretty good.
