Should you get paid to go to summer school?
Washington, D.C. filled it’s at-risk summer school program with students by paying them $5.25 an hour to go to class. While some see it as a great plan to get teens to show up for class others debate that it sends the wrong message. One local politician says, “It’s critical that we get at-risk students and under-performing students and failing students into the program, but I don’t think incentivizing them with money sends the right message.”
