Should this teacher be fired?
A teacher posted a picture of several of her middle school math students on Facebook with duct tape covering their mouths and the caption, “Finally found a way to make them be quiet!” A Facebook friend of the teacher’s reported the picture to the school, and now she is facing termination. Of course, the Facebook friend didn’t know the backstory…a student asked for some duct tape to fix a binder and jokingly covered his mouth with it. Several other students asked for some tape to do the same and encouraged her to take the picture with the humorous caption. It sounds like she is a fun teacher who shouldn’t be punished.
