it souldnt be lowered. i dont want to be that person but when/if u drink befor 18 it can cause major mutations in DNA, also it can sto p youre brain from growing and its just **** in the futere

Drinking before 18 makes people feel like rebels. People want to experience what “adults experience”. We need to make alcohol seem like a small deal. Instead, we make turning 21 a huge deal. In Europe, they let there kids grow up drinking some form of alcohol. The quantities are usually small, but the exposure makes the kids feel like alcohol isn’t a big deal. So there DUI and alcoholism rates are much lower than here.

I think they should lower it because, what does age really do in this situation? on the other hand, 21 has been the significant age for who knows how long. some people might not get used to the change.

I got drunk the first time when i was 14Yo, haha but this is france. I think the US and having to be 21 to drink is ridiculous

on the arugment of “if 18 yr olds can die for their country why cant they drink” well one 99.99% of 18-20 yr olds in this country dont serve in the military, two drinking has nothing to do with defending your country. Of course the majority of teens here will say “lower it” and “i already drink”. The point of why it wont e lowered, is the DUI rate WILL go up, and Alcohol Related Incidents WILL go up Alcohol related organ damage, and the surgery to replace those organs, not to mention the people who damage ther organs with alcohol and have to get surgeries because of it, are stealing organs away from people who actually need those organs because of an actual disease or because of cancer. College failure rates will go up, Domestic Violence will go up, Debt because you cant pay your bills beause you spend it all on beer will go up. yes lowering just 3 years can do massive damage to this country, it doesnt need to be any more screwed up than it already is. 21 year olds may be immature someties, but how does lowering it to 18 make that problem any better. All you guys are thinking about is gettingdunk and patrying, and dont consider the damage it can and will cause. It may be depressing to think about, but there goes why it isnt already 18. Too much of a good thing can be bad.
