I think they should lower it to maybe 19, that way kids won’t be as likely to drink underage and will actually wait to drink, but who am I kidding? I’m underage and drink.

its 18 here in Canada and legal for sex is 16 (with lots of restrictions no porn, prostitution, ect.) but I think they should both be raised

Here in the UK its 18 but most kids start at like 15 and we have been given the title booze britian, everyone here lives for drink! I think the age should stay at 21 because you will be more responsiable whereas here everyone gets hammered and more and more people are dying cause of it..

Half the reason people in highschool act like idiots while drunk is because they are able to associate drinking with being “rebellious”. Making it similar to cigarettes (you can smoke but can’t buy them until X age) would make more sense personally. 14 Year olds shouldn’t be able to go out and buy a 24 with their allowance, but if they want to drink it shouldn’t be against the law. Let them learn what a hangover is before they start driving.

Kids in the US have always found a way to drink under-age. I think that leaving it at 21 is an awesome idea. By the time you turn 21, assuming you started under-aged, you then have a general idea of what you like and how much you can handle. Making you a bit smarter, and maybe even more responsible as a legal adult. If it gets lowered to 18, then kids will start experimenting even younger. But then we could possibly end up with even more, and younger, alcohol related deaths, and health issues, and whatever.
