As I am so against of the use of Marijuana, LEGALIZATION is probably the best way to get rid of it. You know making people pay taxes and making people pay extra. Maybe cutting ties with drug cartels. Eventually actually reducing and controlling the use of Marijuana would make it hard for people to get access to it. Running drug dealers out of business and stuff. Since there are so many users, it could potentially help pay off our national debt.

William Randolph Hearst and Harry Anslinger used yellow journalism to slander Marijuana because he had invested heavily in the timber industry to support his newspaper chain and didn’t want to see the development of hemp paper in competition.

Okay it’s not illegal because it can make paper it’s illegal because the government doesn’t want it coming in from Cuba and the drug cartel coming up from Mexico. If they do legalize, and they should, we would be out of debt with in a year or two, Looking at the statistics of California’s medicinal marijuana income. Especially since they would but a tax on it inorder for the government to make a profit off of it. The government overexagerates the Affects marijuana will give you, your not going to become violent. They act like your going to kill somebody cause you are high. False. people kill others when they are highly intoxicated yet alcohol is legal? I find this a fault in our system. They should also take to mind that less people (teens in specific) are likely to smoke, considering they typically do it for pure thrill of it being illegal, once it is legal it would loose its appeal to the youth. They could also put an age restriction on it, let’s say 18, and also limits, such as no smoking when driving. If the government really looks at like this and puts restrictions, it really isn’t that bad of a drug and it SHOULD be LEGALIZED. I think I have made my point.

First off Cannabis is a drug, it’s a plant. Second off for people claiming that pot is so dangerous, it’s have never been proven to be the cause of death. Pot isn’t a gateway drug. Alcohol and cigarettes are. If you ask most people who smoke marijuana or do other recational drugs they started out with alcohol or cigarettes. Two things that cause more deaths a year than Marijuana has caused in it’s 8,000 years of recorded history. The government isn’t trying to keep the people safe, they’re trying to keep the people in fear. Smoking marijuana doesn’t affect your lungs as much as the media lets on. Also if you’re concerned with smoking try edibles. You should also be made aware of the fact that not only is Marijuana a medicine, but can be used for food, paper, and oil. It’s ******* illegal because William Randolph Hearst found out how much paper hemp could produce faster than the paper we use today and decided to put out how bad it was.**** legalization, I don’t want government hands in my weed. Decriminalization is the way to go.

You who say they should legalize all drugs are absolute IDIOTS. Yes, you should be able to put whatever in your body since it is yours. HOWEVER, people like to do drugs and then do stupid things like drive. THAT’S why it’s illegal. Because upon using them you can hurt other people, unwillingly. How many SOBER people have died in an accident because someone on drugs hit them? To many, that’s how much. Same goes for marijuana. Yes, it would make more money but it also makes living life more dangerous. They’re just trying to keep people safe. People who are doing drugs are ALSO more likely to commit suicide. God forbid the government and laws are just trying to keep people safe. There’s reasons for laws, they’re not just to torture you morons.

I’m for legalization. But, ticketable offense is where it should be at if not completely legal. Use on private property should be legal and not a ticketable offense. Besides transporting you shouldn’t get a ticket, only for public flashing/burning should it be a violation. As for marijuana being the “gateway drug” that’s the biggest propaganda going. One could just argue, “yea its the gateway drug,because my government and teachers made it seem so horrible and bad, what have they lied about pertaining to the rest of the drugs.” Marijuana wasn’t the first drug I tried and many others, use other drugs before marijuana or stay just with the ganja. This plant helped me with my medical injury amazingly. The time it was supposed to take me to heal was cut in half. My doctors were astounded with my recovery rate.Not to mention alcohol is a drug. when was the last time a cop had to go to a domestic dispute because someone smoked a little weed?

To be honest, I’m getting pretty close to the libertarian side on this — legalize it, let the government regulate and tax the shxt out of it, and let the private sector take over.

That way, drug dealers won’t be able to make a living off of it and actually have to contribute to society, users will have to pay fees and taxes to buy it, and employers/businesses can determine if they want users working for them!

It’s a victimless crime so what’s the big deal? how does marijuana effect any of you that don’t smoke? It helps alot of people and those against it want to let those people suffer just so everyone can be like them. If you drink alcohol your such a hypocrite.
