A high school in Brooklyn is prepping for its upcoming June 7th prom…and causing some controversy along the way. The transfer school, which caters to students who have had academic or disciplinary issues in traditional school settings, will make condoms available at the end of prom night. While abstinence advocates are up in arms, the school’s principal believes that it is helping prepare the students for a brighter future. Teen pregnancy, he says, “is self-sabotage. It makes it more difficult to move forward and life becomes a struggle…We are trying to prepare [students] for college and for life.”

Yes… by all means give us condoms! I might be taking your daughter to prom, wouldn’t you want to protect me from diseases! Get coloured ones and we can call them giant party balloons individually wrapped for your pleasure if they are flavoured… Idk… Someone smart think of something!

First of all, people have sex. I mean or else wouldn’t be hear.
But the fact that you’re supplying them makes kids who don’t really want to have sex think about it or get peer pressured into it. I mean if I was a parent I would be totally against them supplying. If they want to have it then they should go get their own. Don’t waste the schools money from some WHOREmone crazed kids.

If the u wanna have sex then get ur own damn condoms. Supplying condoms would make other kids feel bad if they didn’t have a date, don’t plan on having sex, or wanted to keep their sex life a secret. I, myself, wouldn’t mind but I’m not everyone.

I’m of two minds. On one hand, if it stops even one unwanted pregnancy and that person avoids the “self-sabatoge” then it’s worth it. On the other hand, one wishes these kids would just keep it in their pants for a change lol.

At our school (an Australian one) when we leave formal they tell us that anyone who gets into trouble for being drunk following the Formal (our form of prom.) will be at the least suspended.

There aren’t any condoms handed out. (That I know of.)

I mean it’s not the most horrible thing anyone’s ever done, but it doesn’t really set a good example or a good expectation. Personally as a girl, it’s like, “Oh, condoms, nice. I guess that’s all this night’s going to be about then. Great.” I mean, at a prom I went to, they handed out shirts, and prizes, and like memorable stuff… it was super awesome and everyone had an amazing time and that kinda thing wasn’t needed. If prom night is so all about the sex, just skip the prom and sex it, or buy your own damn contraception xD Oh liberal mommy government… <3

it would be hilarious to walk into prom and have the table peices designed with the number of seats at the table, that way everyone gets 1 and it looks good haha

Hmmm, tax money going for condoms…sounds good! Hey, can I get a little tax money over here for a new phone? I need it so…just in case…if I get kidnapped or something I can call the police! (Make it a Droid Razr Maxx, okey? :D) OHOHOH, and I could use some new kicks, cause I mean all the walking I’m doing to save the planet! Just charge it to my neighbor’s bill ;D
