Should a girl be jailed for tweeting about her sexual assualt?
A seventeen-year-old from Kentucky could face jail time after tweeting the names of two boys who sexually assaulted her after she passed out at a party. Because the boys are minors she was under a court order not to reveal their names.
She said, “I’m at the point, that if I have to go to jail for my rights, I will do it,” she said. “If they really feel it’s necessary to throw me in jail for talking about what happened to me … as opposed to throwing these boys in jail for what they did to me, then I don’t understand justice.”
Do you think she should be punished?

Yeah, she got raped. That sucks. But it was not okay for her to violate the rights of someone else regardless. No one said that the boys were going to get off Scott-free just because she revealed their names, and I really don’t think an exception should be made for her just because she was a victim. She broke a law, and that’s that. Her case was already being taken care of, posting on Twitter about it and going against the rules was stupid and immature.
