New York legalizes gay marriage — What do you think?

Late Friday, the state of New York reached a monumental decision with the approval of same-sex marriage, officially becoming the sixth and largest state to legalize gay marriage. Shortly after the decision was announced, a large crowd gathered outside the state capitol to celebrate.
The fate of the bill was left uncertain until moments before the vote Friday, when it was narrowly approved by a vote of 33 to 29.
New York now joins Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and the District of Columbia as the only states/provinces that permit same-sex marriage.
Question is…Do you think same-sex marriage will eventually be legalized throughout the United States? What is your take on the passing of the bill in New York?
