Is Lindsay Lohan really suing Pitbull over “disparaging lyrics”?
Watch what you say about Lindsay Lohan.
In case you are not familiar with the song, the lyrics in question are:
Hustlers move aside, so I’m tiptoeing, keep flowin’/ I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan/
The lawsuit reads, “The lyrics, by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants about the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm to the plaintiff.” Furthermore, Lohan is “a professional actor of good repute and standing in the Screen Actors Guild”, and her lawyers state she is suing under “the New York civil rights laws, which protects people from having their name exploited for commercial purposes”.
The lawsuit seeks an injunction to stop the broadcasting of the song, a former U.S. #1 hit, as well as unspecified damages.
Do you think Lindsay Lohan has a case here?

@ CityofCici yess i loved her in parent trap lol. But idk i mite be pissed to if someone used me in one of there songs, she made mistakes in life, so what everyone does. Just because she doesnt want to hear about herself going to prison in a song, doesnt mean she wants attention (& she very well mite want it) but point is, i think she does have a case

She doesn’t have a damn thing.

She doesn’t have a case. She’s a public image. People like governors have tried to sue people for using them in political cartoons but the cases are thrown out for example.

@rainbow…you dont know her so how do you know she isnt doing it for attention, and arent we like you entitled to an opinion, and btw good press or bad press, its still press and her name is still getting out there, there is no downside to a publicity stunt such as this, it benifits both involved, boosts record sales cause you dont know if the song will be yanked so as many people as possible will be buying it as to hear it in its original version…a good example is katy perrys California gurls, snoop dogg had one line in that song but the writes who wrote the original song for the beach boys sued for copyright infringement, rather than pay royalties they just cut out that particular part of the song…however in the days leading up to the song being pulled sales shot up almost 500% when word got out the song may not be around much longer…so who is it that doesnt know what we are talking about and being stupid us who think its a publicity stunt or the idiot that doesnt seem to see the money to be made by pulling it…i will leave my peers to decide

I ******* love her. And yes she does have a case. Many artists have had their names in songs, movies, etc. They didnt do anything about because they didn’t care. But she apparently does and has every right to sue. And for all of you saying she is only doing it for attention, you dont even ******* know her so i suggest you just shut the hell up and stop making yourself look stupid. That would be the stupidest way to get attention, and even if she is seeking attention I dont blame her considering she lost pretty much everything cause of her drug and alcohol addiction.
She may be totally insane, but in my opinion she’s still pretty great.

She does have a case because they said her name. As to the lyrics defaming her, no way. The lyric in question actually make no sense and doesn’t tie to the rest of the song. Just random **** fans are too stupid to notice doesn’t make sense or are too “out there” and give it definition it doesn’t have.

I find it amazing how quickly fans become fair weather fans. I do hope she gets clean soon though. I miss the innocence of the snow bunnies. All that’s out there now are stoners and alchies.

I hope Mick Jagger gets to suing a few people if this even works.
