Is homework unnecessary?

Several schools across the country are implementing a Homework Bill of Rights that prohibits teachers from grading homework or assigning homework over weekends or holidays. Other schools won’t allow homework to count more than a small percentage of a student’s final grade. One Maryland school has abolished homework altogether in favor of nightly reading. One principal asks, “Who are we as educators to dictate how families spend their private time?”

There should be homework, but it should be coordinated between teachers so you dont get slammed all at once, and NO HOMEWORK ON HOLIDAYS
