Frankmusik work ethic shines through on ‘Do It In The AM’

Frankmusik new album, Do It In The AM (released September 27), features a variety of guest appearances including Colette Carr, Natalia Kills and Far East Movement.
The singer/producer collaborated with Far East Movement on the record’s first single “Do It In The AM” (below). Frankmusik dished on FEM, “They’re incredible bunch of guys. I don’t know anyone else who works as hard as them.”
Frankmusik attended boarding school while growing up in England and eventually made music more than just a hobby. It became a full-time, fledgling career. He added about his decision to move to the U.S., “I feel that I have taken a real leap compared to other UK artists by actually moving here,” he explained. “There is a difference I think for artists who come (to the States) as opposed to the artists that come here for the tours and go back again. When you fully embrace the culture and the lifestyle of America you start to develop a whole different aspect to it.”
“I’m not here to break America,” he continued. “I’m here to challenge myself. Most UK labels argue that you should stay where your fans are and this and that. It goes back to the whole familiarity thing again, not risking and taking risks. I’m always going to try and challenge myself.”
If you purchase a copy of Do It In The AM on iTunes, fans will get a new bonus track from Frankmusik every Friday until the end of December. He remarked about the new concept of basically buy one get one free, “I suppose I’m very lucky, I can make as much music as I want and it costs nobody anything. It just costs me my time.”
“The music industry, in this financial situation, becomes more and more let’s just say consolidated. You want to be able to have artists that can do as much work as possible… We’re living in a time where people feel that music is basically free anyways. If you can satisfy that kind of hunger you’re doing yourself some right along the way.”
It’s the kind of work ethic that has, and will continue to get the talented 26 year-old far in life.
