Folk singer Bess Rogers is ‘Out Of The Ocean’

Tomorrow, Bess Rogers will return with Out Of The Ocean, the pop/punk/folk singer’s second full-length studio album. The inspiration for Out Of The Ocean came from an unlikely source – a book entitled Your Inner Fish, by Neil Shubin.

Rogers explained, “The book is about our evolution from life as far back as pre-historic fish and microbes and how that has affected our bodies and our lives now. It really grabbed me and I found myself a bit obsessed. I started to look at everything we do in life as a product of evolution, and many of the songs on this record were inspired by that idea.”

Out Of The Ocean is Rogers’ most diverse and accomplished to date, and her fearless instrumentation, dynamic range and intelligent songwriting are evident as always. Be sure to peep the record from an artist that has had music featured on Mott’s For Tots, One Tree Hill and Pretty Little Liars.

Bess Rogers has already embarked on a fall/winter 2011 tour. Get all the details at BessRogers.com. Do you enjoy folk music? Are you a fan of Bess Rogers?
