Are video games getting too expensive?
Dust 514 is an upcoming free-to-play console-based MMOFPS set within the Eve universe. The game will be the first developed by CCP since Eve Online, available exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
Do you like the idea of an upcoming free-to-play game? Are video games getting too expensive?

I don’t care if it’s crap I return, it if not I play it. Simple as that.

I guess it depends on the game. If it’s pricey but worth it, oh well. Money well spent.

Games havent had an increase in price since 2005 so they arent getting any more expensive. Whether you want to pay $60 for a game is up to you though. And games really havent gotten much shorter, its just that the popular games tend to focus more on multiplayer instead of single player story lines. Games like Mass Effect and Skyrim show that there are still title out there that have engrossing and lengthy story-lines.

The idea is terrible since EVE doesn’t have a huge fan base, and a fan base that is not there on the PS3.
Making more money based on price doesn’t mean games are getting better. Games have become shorter and shorter in this console generation.
Also what does price of a game have to do with a free console based MMO that is exclusive to one system?

They are pretty expensive when they first come out — but the new release price generally doesn’t last very long at all. Just wait a couple of months before buying that game you want, and you’ll pay about half-price or lower for it.

Well they might be expensive…but the more money that video game makers get, the better the newer games will be.
