Carl Fredricksen is one of those lucky enough to have met his soulmate, Ellie, at a very young age. As young adventurers, the duo make plan to someday move their clubhouse to the edge of Paradise Falls in South America. But, as happens sometimes, life gets in the way. After losing Ellie, Carl sets out to finish their adventure on his own...or so he thinks...
Up! is a fantastic movie! Easily the best Pixar-animation-esq movie I've seen in a very long time. The characters are so loveable, and the storyline and relationships are all so sweet. It's heartwarming and visually beautiful. It's funny, but also sad. It's amusing and uplifting. And the 3D effects were very well done and really added to the story's ability to engulf your mind.
Personally, I found it to be a bit sad and scary for children, but friends of mine with kids say it had them absolutely mezmerized - so maybe it's not such a bad movie to take your little brother or sister to, or the kids you babysit. As long as they're not wimpy kids like I, apparently, was. Very, very cute movie that I'd recommend to anyone.
