If you're like me then you like to stay ahead of the scene. You don't like listening to the radio due to the fact that you know you're going to hear the same song five times within just an hour and a half. There are many benefits to staying ahead of the scene. You catch the good stuff! In my opinion most artists put out their best work early in their careers. Matt & Kim are no exception, they're proving my point perfectly.

It's hard to say that this is their best work, when obviously we haven't seen it all, but I will say that what they've done so far will be hard to top. After listening to their newest album, "Grand" it's clear what their motive is: to make sure "people have a good time," as said by drummer Kim Schifino. And it's nearly impossible to listen to this album and not have a good time.

Every song on here has me moving. These guys could make a guard at Buckingham Palace bust a move! Seriously though, they could. The group consists of Kim on drums and Matt on keyboard. Both Matt and Kim sing in various songs and are most energetic. After watching a live performance of them in Brooklyn I was instantly hooked. Pouring sweat and still going strong, getting stronger even. You will find nothing but inspirational lyrics and addictive tunes. The only downside is the track lengths. The average track length on the album is approx 2.5 minutes which isn't that long for how good their music is in my opinion.

Overall I would rate this album a 4 out of 5. Up-sides are very inspirational lyrics and music. Very unique sound and although they are gaining popularity quite quickly, I don't think they will be overplayed anytime soon. Down-sides are the track lengths. That's really all I didn't like. I would've loved much more content on this album.
