There's really no better recipe for a band. Take a group of friends familiar from their local party scene, throw in a bucket of mutual love for the genre and add lashings of San Diego sunshine and what do you get?
Well, probably Fight Fair.
Their debut EP 'Settle The Score' is eight tracks of sun-kissed pop-punk bliss. From start to finish it's a windows down volume up slice of West Coast surfpop and amazingly, it's the bands DEBUT release. Numero uno. Rest assured the bands efforts did not go un-noticed mind... pop-rock heavyweight label Triple Crown Records (home to bands such as Hit The Lights and The Secret Handshake) were soon to snap the guys up and the rest, as they say, is history.
With their first national tour completed late February 2009, despite a few hiccups on the way (how's a van smash for you?) the band have been busy writing for their full length album to be recorded in Spring 2009, citing influences of early 60's surf pop rock and traditional punk, I for one, and looking forward to hearing the labour of their love.
Fight Fair - definitely one to watch in 2009.
