 TeenSpot: Hi – Please tell us who you are, and what you do? Jessica: Hi I'm Jessica! Janelle: ...and I'm Janelle, together we are known as Prima J, and we are geffen recording artists! TeenSpot: Prima J? What does it meaaaaaaaaaaaaan! Jessica: Well, we are both Mexican-American and we are cousins, and in Spanish "prima" means cousin! Janelle: Yeah and the J stands for the first letter of both our first names... so put it together and you get Prima J! TeenSpot: Tell us a little about Rock Star! Jessica: Rockstar is the title of our single from the "Bratz The Movie" soundtrack! Janelle: It's a really fun and sassy song that basically says no matter what people think of us we’re still some Rockstars! Jessica: Yeah there's some really cute lines in the song like "You hate cuz I'm a rockstar, a pretty problem uh huh" haha Janelle: Yeah my favorite line is "It ain’t my fault the boys keep following, if you were better he wouldn't be wondering" haha oh yeah! Jessica: We just did a music video for the song, it was our first video so it was an amazing experience, we love how the video came out, it’s really colorful and fun just like the song and it really shows off our personalities well! TeenSpot: So now that it’s released very shortly, are you nervous? Janelle: Well, we’re more excited Jessica: ...and maybe just a little nervous but yeah we’re extremely excited! TeenSpot: How does it feel to be associated with Bratz? Jessica: Its amazing to be associated with the bratz , Everybody loves the Bratz!!! Haha TeenSpot: You are of course cousins, is it weird working with family? You must have some proud parents and grandparents! (and indeed siblings, pets and friends!)  Janelle: We have a HUGE family and we are all extremely close and they are all sooo proud of us, we even have family get togethers' every so often just to celebrate all the great things that are happening for us! Both: Shout out to the Martinez family whoo whoo!! Haha TeenSpot: You girls are both young still! A lot of our readers will want to know… how did you make it so far so young!? Janelle: Honestly we've always known this is what we wanted to do so as soon as we were old enough to sing and dance that's what we did! Jessica: We started off dancing, we just kept getting involved in whatever we could in our neighborhood that was associated with dance and as we got better at dancing we got better and performing and the stage just kind of felt like comfortable, like we were SUPPOSED to be there! Janelle: ...and from there we just kept workin’ on it and getting’ better and we just had so much fun, it was always a good thing that we had each other to push each other and build our confidence! TeenSpot: What important advice can you offer anyone wanting to break into pop music? Jessica: Well like everyone says just keep pushin’ for your dream and don't stop for anything or anybody, if you know this is where you belong than this where you will be... you HAVE to believe in yourself! TeenSpot: What have your main musical influences been when growing up? Who are your favorite stars right now?  Jessica: My favorite artist right now would probably be Chris Brown, he's an amazing performer, I also love Justin Timberlake, Musiq, Soulchild and India Arie, I love her! Janelle: I love Timbaland! I also like Ludacris, Lil Wayne and T.I. And Kanye! Oh and Queens of The Stone Age! Both: We listen to all styles of music TeenSpot: Where would you like to see yourselves in five years time? Jessica: We would love to still be doin’ music, if we could do it forever we would! Maybe headlining a huge tour! Janelle: We would also like to get into acting and do some movies, that would be great! TeenSpot would like to thank the girls for taking the time out to answer our questions!
