![]() TS = TeenSpot (Gary) PV = Hidden In Plain View (Joe) TS: Hi there, could you introduce yourself and tell us what you do... PV: Hey hey my names Joe and I'm vocalist for the band Hidden In Plain View. TS: So, how is the tour going? PV: Um, well this is our first time in the UK so I really had nothing to base it against. Tonight is the last date of the tour. Everyone has been amazing. Each show has been topping itself and topping itself. It's great, to be out with Allister, to be out with The Early November. It's awesome. TS: Has there been a dramatic change compared to the UK and the USA legs of the tour? PV: Not really. Um, I feel like the English fans are very excited to see us but maybe that's because they've not seen us before. It's exciting for us too because we're happy to be here. I didn't know what to expect. I heard good tea and bad beer. TS: What do you think has been the highlight of it all so far? (Including USA legs) PV: Well we weren't on the American leg of the tour but we were out on tour with MXPX. It was a great time. From each tour... well I wouldn't say it's much different. Those guys were awesome and we're just looking forward to being on the American legs of the invasion tour later on. I caught a damn cold so I've missed all the fun. Something that stands out though is that I kept going to my bunk and finding Sergio from The Early November laying there. I guess he got a little too drunk and just passed out on my bunk. TS: Did you kick him out? PV: I kicked him the hell outta there. Get the hell outta my bunk shithead. TS: What are your plans post tour? PV: Uh, we get home and we're off until March 10th. We're gonna finish writing our full length. We're looking forward to it. TS: Could you tell us a little about your relationship with Drive-Thru? PV: Drive Thru Records is attractive to bands. I've been a fan for so long. Y'know. I just kinda noticed that the bands that they sign aren't really bands with names already. I feel like Richard and Stefanie and so good and going out and finding their own A&R. They seem to be able to recognise a talent. Finding a band that no ones heard of and showing the world. We were trying to get a label for 3 years and when Drive Thru picked us up it was like a dream come true. I never expected to get onto Drive Thru so yeah. One big family! TS: What do you think about the new Drive-Thru-Records signings? (Jenoah and Hellogoodbye) PV: I'm excited. I've heard alotta Jenoah and it's very, I dunno. It's very good and progessive. I've not had a chance to get down and personal with it yet but it sounds like it's gonna fit right in. Hellogoodbye I've not heard anything yet. TS: If you could sign any band to Drive-thru as your labelmates, who would you sign? PV: There's a million bands I love but I wouldn't pick them. I'd pick a band from home called Maverick. TS: If you were asked to write a song about your label, how would it go? PV: Ahahah... shit I don't know. Hmm... I dunno man. You've stumped me on that one. I think 'Poor chi chi' pooooooooor chi chi. TS: How and where do you see yourself and the band in say, 5 years time? PV: I wanna take every day as it comes. I just wanna keep making music. Hopefully we'll be on our fifth record at that point and all we be going well. TS: What are your favourite and least favourite tracks to play live? PV: Favourite tracks to play live... I would say er... Shamens witches magic. It has a good crowd reaction. I love connecting with the crowd. TS: I like Ferriswheel PV: Wow that's old. My favourite song is probably a new one. The third song in our set tonight. It's one of the tracks that will feature on our full length that we're working on. TS: How is the new album coming along anyway? PV: It's looking good. We're real excited. Everyone seems real jazzed and ready to go to write and finish this record because the songs we have already... well we impress ourselves everytime with them. TS: Do you have a favourite website? PV: Oh man. There's a million. I'd say home star runner. I'm not really a big fan of all the gossip so sites like absolutepunk doesn't interest me. TS: How do you feel about internet filesharing? PV: Uh, I dunno. Now that we're in the music business we realise it really does hurt the bands. I hate it when I hear fans keep complaining about why bands aren't touring their area and such for months... like why arent you coming back untill so late... and really like we and the labels can't afford to keep coming back. This is mainly due to lack of record sales. If we were selling more records here then the labels would be more keen to bring us out over. With filesharing its like, it's there, it helps the band and promotes the band. In that way it helps it. I'm always the one that would download sometimes but I wouldn't be a collector. I'd buy the cd because I appreciate the artwork and I liked putting it up and being proud of the cd. The thing that bugs me most is when a band has an album due out in like 2 weeks and there it is already leaked over the internet. It just takes the fun. That's not fair on the band at all. TS: What's the weirdest thing you've had thrown on stage during a show? PV: I've had some funny things thrown at me. It depends, is it from a fan or from er... The Early November? TS: Anyone! Tell us about The Early November then... PV: Well last night they were throwing apples at us hahaha... it's funny. I've had my share of underwear shown. Never have I had boobies shown at the front if that counts... but that's ok, I'm not asking for it... Umm.. apples, cheese, anything from our bus that The Early November feel they need to throw at us
