No ordinary artist. Interviewed. Jordan Pruitt is a monumentally talented singer/songwriter with a maturity far beyond her 15 years. As her Hollywood Records debut CD No Ordinary Girl shows, Jordan has the chops to command the youth audience of today and for many tomorrows to come. No Ordinary Girl hits stores February 6th.

TeenSpot.com recently got the chance to quiz Jordan Pruitt about her new album No Ordinary Girl, what it's like being a young rising star and where she see's herself in the future. Don't forget to grab a copy of her album, its great!

TeenSpot:

Hi Jordan! Please, tell us a little about yourself.

Jordan: Well… my name is Jordan Pruitt, I just released my first album No Ordinary Girl and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it and to get back on the road meet more of my fans.  I’m having so much fun right and meeting so many great people!

TeenSpot:
You were discovered at the tender young age of thirteen… your life must have been a little crazy since then?

Jordan: It was crazy! But soooo much fun and exciting.

TeenSpot:
Do you ever wish that sometimes you could just be an ‘ordinary’ teenager?

Jordan: Never!  I love what I’m doing far toooooo much!

TeenSpot: You’ve achieved so much in such a short time, do you have to pinch yourself sometimes to make sure it’s real!?

Jordan: Oh definitely.  This is so surreal.

TeenSpot:
Working with Disney is many people’s dreams, how does it feel to be associated with such a popular and famous company?

Jordan: I’m blessed to work with such quality people and what an honor to be a Disney representative!

TeenSpot: Do you think you’ve got what it takes to follow in the success of people like Britney (Excluding her actions in the last couple of years!)

Jordan: I’ve always known I’d be doing this, and to answer your question, YES!  I have a more modest approach, but in terms of ability, I am confident.

TeenSpot: So your debut album ‘No Ordinary Girl’ is out now, tell us a little about that.

Jordan: We spent a year and a half writing the songs.  Outside Looking In was the first song we wrote.  Finally--- over two years later, it was soooo exciting seeing the CD in the stores.  Keith and I went to Target to buy a copy just for the experience.  I took a photo with my phone of the CD on the rack there with all the other artists. I said, “Hey that’s me on the cover!”

TeenSpot:

How did you find working with Keith Thomas (producer)?

Jordan: I absolutely adore him.  He’s such a great friend, producer, manager, and genuine person.  We’re a team!

TeenSpot:
You do actually write a lot of your own material, how important do you think that is?

Jordan: It’s very important. I want to sing songs about my own experiences and not just record other people’s songs.  It’s important to me to be known as a singer and a songwriter.  I co-wrote 12 of the 14 songs on the CD.

TeenSpot:
What would you consider are the highlights of the album?

Jordan: “Waiting For You,” “When I Pretend” and “Waiting For The Weekend” (Target bonus track)

TeenSpot:
Would you do anything differently in the future?

Jordan: Not really… Just continue to write about life and pursue what I’m passionate about-- which is MUSIC!

TeenSpot: “Teenager” is the next single to be taken from the album, what should we expect from that!?

Jordan: Well, we’re not really sure if “Teenager” will be the next single.  We have a good feeling about “Miss Popularity”…

TeenSpot: Where do you see yourself in one year’s time? How about five?

Jordan: Making music.  I know how much I’ve grown musically over the past two years.  I can’t imagine what it will be like in five.  I have a few offers to act but only if it supplements my music career.  I can’t imagine anything more rewarding than this.

TeenSpot:
What advice can you offer anyone who thinks they have got what it takes to be a young star like yourself?

Jordan:
Work harder than everyone else, never give up and follow your heart.
