Ashley Tisdale, one of the stars of Disney Channel's smash-hit High School Musical, will be releasing her debut solo album Headstrong on February 6, 2007 on Warner Bros. Records. Ashley is on the road now with the High School Musical Tour where she is performing songs from her forthcoming release. Ashley Tisdale was recently named one of Teen People’s 25 Hottest Stars Under 25.

TeenSpot.com recently got the chance to interview rising teen star, Ashley Tisdale, and ask her all about her new album Headstrong (which is in stores February 6th), what's on her iPod, life on the road with High School Musical, and what it's like being a teenage idol.

TeenSpot: Why don't you start off with telling us a little big about yourself.. Where you were born, where you are now, and how old are you?

Ashley: I was born in West Deal NJ, and moved to LA when I was 13. I am 21 years old now.

TeenSpot: What got you into acting?

Ashley: I was in a mall with my mom in a carriage when I was 3 when my now manager approached her to ask if I wanted to audition for commercials. My mom ended up taking me to NY and I auditioned and booked the first 5 commercials I went on. From that lead to theater, print, voiceovers and finally TV.

TeenSpot: You really hit it big with The "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody."  Had you done a lot of acting before the series?

Ashley: Yes, I did a lot of guest starring and recurring roles – that led to 3 network pilots , but they didn’t get picked up.

TeenSpot: Is it true that you met your manager, Bill Perlman at a local mall?

Ashley: Yes, The Monmouth Mall in NJ.

TeenSpot: We heard that Simon Cowell approves of your musical talents, what do you have to say about that?

Ashley: I was shocked that he actually knew who I was and watched HSM – AND liked me!

TeenSpot: What's your most embarrassing moment?  Onstage and off.

Ashley: I tripped over a fire hydrant in high school in front of the whole football team!

TeenSpot: What is your most memorable moment with the HSM crew?

Ashley: The last day of shooting “ We’re All In This Together”

TeenSpot: What's it like on the road while touring with High School Musical?  

Ashley: The bus is so much fun, and my fans are great too!

TeenSpot: Do you have your own bus?  Do you ever ride in anyone else’s bus?

Ashley: I share a bus with my friend and co-star Monique Coleman

TeenSpot: Has your older sister (Jennifer Tisdale) influenced your acting
career?

Ashley: She is my biggest supporter – and is really talented with drama roles.

TeenSpot: You have a dog named "Blondie," coincidently this is also your nickname on "The Suite Life."  Was this a name you chose for yourself?

Ashley: No – Someone on the crew calls me “Blondie”

TeenSpot: What is your favorite designer and what is your favorite store to go
shopping at?

Ashley: I love LAMB by Gwen Stefani for sweats, BEBE, and Betsy Johnson

TeenSpot: If you could fly to anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be
and why?

Ashley: PARIS …seems so beautiful in pictures

TeenSpot: Tell us a little bit about Club Libby Lu and what part you have in it.

Ashley: I helped pick out the accessories and cosmetics for my line “Pink” for young girls.

TeenSpot: What is a little-known fact about you?

Ashley: I am shy.

TeenSpot: What is your next big step in acting or singing?

Ashley: My album release “Headstrong” on Warner Bros. – HSM2 – and I have a new animated series on the Disney Channel called “Phineas and Ferb” as well as the 3rd season of Suite Life.

TeenSpot: Have you ever pulled any backstage pranks?  Or have you been on the receiving end?

Ashley: Hmmmmm I might have something in the works..

TeenSpot: What's the craziest thing a fan has done/made for you?

Ashley: Sent me money – which I donated to St. Jude

TeenSpot: If we looked at your iPod what would we find on it?

Ashley: Gwen Stefani, All American-Rejects, The Fray and Tyler Hilton

TeenSpot: What movie, no matter how many times you watch it makes you cry?

Ashley: My Best Friends Wedding, Notting Hill…anything Julia Roberts!

TeenSpot: Your debut solo album "Headstrong" will be coming out February 6, 2007. What is behind the name "Headstrong?"

Ashley: I am actually very passionate about my work – especially this album…very Headstrong!

TeenSpot: Is it hard to juggle your acting career and music career?

Ashley: It was a challenge, but I loved every minute of it.

TeenSpot: Did you ever think you'd make it on the list of Teen People’s 25 Hottest Stars Under 25?  How's it feel?

Ashley: No – I was not prepared for the impact of HSM and how it would affect me – It has done such amazing things for all our careers!
