Hi, I'm Michael, a Junior in Haltom High school. I am pretty ambicious about becoming a scientist when I get older, my favorite area of science is astronomy followed by physics, yes I'm aware this makes me a nerd and if anyone has a problem with it then oh well. Anyways my heros are mostly scientists aswell such as Carl Sagan, Einstein, etc. I am pretty mature for my age, or so people say, but even so I have my faults, or weaknesses. Update: I am now offcially an agnostic. For those who are confused, an agnostic thinks it impossible to know the truth in matters such as God and the future life with which Christianity and other religions are concerned. Or, if not impossible, at least impossible at the present time
. Are agnostics atheists?
No. An atheist, like a Christian, holds that we can know whether or not there is a God. The Christian holds that we can know there is a God; the atheist, that we can know there is not. The Agnostic suspends judgment, saying that there are not sufficient grounds either for affirmation or for denial.
I am not against any religion, but I do have a problem when people of any religion do the following; force their beliefs upon other people, kill or harm people for their beliefs, use a god to justify racism, prejudices and sexism, denying people of their civil rights, and when they're out there complaining about a book (such as Harry Potter) which harms nobody, spending thousands of dollars to ban it, but not even spending a dime to combat stuff like starvation, rape, racism, and stuff that does hurt people. |
