I'm from Ireland. I'm 17, doing my Leaving Cert this year and looking to do Government and Political Science in U.C.C. (University College, Cork) next year. I prefer to be androgynous, but for the purposes of this board I guess I'm female. I'm introverted, socially inept, inappropriate in a lot of instances and as misanthropic as they come, but I really do love my life even if the world's a pretty shitty place.
I'd like to have a lot of political influence someday. I'm as straight-talking as they come; and I like to source the root cause of problems instead of merely taking them at face value like governments are inclined to do these days. I don't really get why politicians are often so.. like.. personality-less. And a vast number of the ones with distinctive personalities are really stupid, or self-important assholes.
I'm of a big family, there's eight of us altogether (which makes Christmas awesome, much as I hate how the season has become a total farce). The only sibling younger than me is Colm; he's seven and has pervasive developmental disorder due to nurses failing to administer a crucial dose of vitamin k required at birth which aids in the clotting of the blood. He had severe epilepsy from age 1-4; and having attempted drug treatment for about two months my parents decided that any alternative cures would be worth not having their son sedated. We tried the Ketogenic Diet; and he's now seizure free for three years. We did everything entirely ourselves, because no institution was willing to aid our plight (due to the fact that there's no money in treatments that aren't drug-orientated). This is why I have no faith in the system. My parents have been civil servants for forty years, and now we don't even receive sufficient funds to amend the errors which they instigated; or to at least be provided with a facility to cope (special needs educational grants exceeding 10 hours a week would be nice).
But yeah, I'm fucked up in a lot of ways I wish I wasn't.. I'm lucky in a lot of other ways though. I have the most gorgeous boyfriend in the world of nearly three years now, and I'm probably more grateful for him than I am for anything else in the world (except maybe oxygen). |

Not madly in to television. I watch Prison Break, Lost, South Park, Black Books, The IT Crowd, Fr. Ted, some CSI and lots of nature crap.. But if I like it I'll generally get it on the internet to watch at my discretion. |

I just saw the Truman Show, I've been meaning to watch it forever. It was very good. Recently observed mainstream films I approved of: 30 Days of Night, Saw IV (and all the rest of them are fucking sweet too), I Am Legend, Charlie Wilson's War, Sweeney Todd. Yesterday we went to see Jumper, it was shit. Juno was also shit. Lions for Lambs was shit and it was fucking PROPAGANDA no matter HOW HARD it tried not to be. And I saw An Inconvenient Truth finally as well. What a load of bullshit, Gore is some self-enamored bastard.

My best friend in the world is Mark, then my school friends are Ellie, Eva and Sarah.. I have odd scatterings of people I enjoy conversing with, but I wouldn't consider a whole heap of those friends. Maybe about three of them. I have absolutely no time for friends outside of school and Mark this year anyway! |

I enjoy a selection of works from the following authors: Richard Osborne, Mary Habeck, HP Lovecraft, Susana Clarke, Stephen King, Matt Beaumont, Richard Dawkins (I don't necessarily agree with his arguments, but his books are often a riveting read). I like other authors but they're not springing to mind immediately so they mustn't be all that noteworthy. |

Here in Cork is lovely for the most part. I can think of nicer places in the countryside of Ireland though. I guess anywhere's great if I have Markily. |

I cycle and walk a lot. I'd do a martial art but I have no time. Used to play hockey and really enjoy swimming.. I'll watch darts, rugby and soccer on tv. Darts is actually fucking fantastic. Also, I take the piss out of wrestling regularly. :D |
