My Medication

Now I know why they do it
I know of the temptation
I finally understand
It is their medication

And though I understand
And put it into practice
I don't recommend
That it's done without tactics

You have to know what you're doing
before it can be done
So I'm going to explain
What can be lost and won

The side-effects are obvious-
The scars they have to hide,
The guilt that they feel
because of all the lies

But all of that is nothing
Compared to the effect
Of calmness and control
Although that may seem inept

With this medication,
Though it is free,
Be a little careful
As it's easy to O.D

If pressed a little harder
In the right Spot
The blood will come pouring out
And you'll be dead before it clots

The other problem is
(this is easily predicted)
There's a very good chance
That you're going to get addicted

This being so,
Like other drugs such as pot or cocaine
You feel invincible
With adrenaline in your veins

Though this may seem horrendous
It's working for me
Its getting even harder
As its never been easy

Even though it feels so good
For a knife to touch my skin
I know the longer I keep at it
The closer the darkness is to its win
