My name is Brian and I am actually 20 and I live in SE Michigan, just north of Detroit. I played hockey for about 15 years and now I spend a lot of my time watching and analyzing NHL hockey. I like to read and I like to write; I want to be a writer in the future. I joined the US Marine Corps a little while ago and now I am currently waiting for a spot to open up for me to leave to basic training. My younger brother Eric is also joining the Marines. He is currently in basic training in San Diego, California. Eric and his girlfriend Shelby are my best friends and I do everything with them. Even with Eric gone, I still hang out with Shelby almost every day; she's like a sister to me. I am much smarter than most people and, though I haven't taken a formal IQ test, I estimate my IQ is in the 140 range. I'm atheist and I think all governments should be secular, otherwise you have issues like the 'Religious Right' in America, Muslim extremists in the Middle East, etc. I suffer from crippling depression and self-medicate as much as I can without harming myself. I am a very complicated person, yet I am remarkably simple. I can be very empathetic, but I have a tendency to be an asshole when I am not happy. I'm a very funny person and can make almost anyone laugh. From time to time, I piss people off because I find humor in almost anything and I take very little seriously. I listen to pretty much anything that strikes my fancy. I like country, rock, punk, rap, hip-hop, some techno, some pop. Favorite artists: Kid Rock, Blink 182, Toby Keith, TI, Young Jeezy, The Offspring, Rise Against. |

I don't watch TV, but when I do it's usually adult cartoons (Family Guy, Futurama, The Simpsons, etc.), sports (NHL, NFL, MLB, soccer, etc.), or educational TV (Discovery, History, NGC, etc.). |

I like most movies, as long as the plot is decent, the acting is good, and the humor isn't forced. |

I find stereotypes laughable, which has gotten me into trouble in the past. I take it on a person by person basis. |

I like thrillers, political books, and some sci fi. My favorite author is Michael Crichton. |

I like being warm, which is very unfortunate for someone who lives in Michigan. |

Polish food and Italian food are my favorites, but I also love potatoes. SO many options and so delicious. |

I drink a lot of water, but when I drink pop, it is usually something with much caffeine, such as Mountain Dew or Pepsi/Coke. Also, I like to drink when I have alcohol available to me, but if I can't I don't think it's that big of a deal. |

I like most sports, other than basketball. I will attend a basketball game if I can get tickets, which is fairly frequently, considering I live about 10 minutes from where the Detroit Pistons play. I love hockey. Nothing else compares. |
