His Name Was Layne
Layne Thomas Staley was Born in Kirkland, Washington on August, 22, 1967. He was Lead vocalist of Alice in Chains and was Lead Vocalist For Grunge super groups, Mad Season and Class of '99. Many artists, are influenced by him today like Sully Erna of god smack, And Aaron Lewis of staind, He was a crucial part in the 90's grunge movement. Layne battled Chemical addiction to heroin his whole career, his last years were said to be very lonely, and hard for everyone Layne In his final year preferred to be left , he wanted to see his way through his battles with chemical addiction by himself. sadly he lost the battle on April, 5th, 2002, when he fatally injected a mixture of heroin and cocaine know as a speed ball, he was not found till 2 weeks later when his parents went to his Seattle condo to check on him, Layne Staley was found laying limp on the couch and going into decomposition, he was found with stashes of cocaine and spray paint cans around him, beside him a Television set flickering, He was only 34 years of age, He died the same day as other Grunge Hero Kurt Cobain, Cobain's suicide and Layne's overdose are only 8 years apart. R.I.P Layne Thomas Staley August, 22, 1967- April, 5th, 2002.
