May you never father a child.
I'm glad I could improve your mood, if only slightly. Off-kilter! Nice word choice.
A teeny bit of crummy guitar and crummy piano. I can carry a tune but my voice is mediocre. You seem the type that would be musically inclined. |

I'm actually quite content, although I have been sleeping a lot. And I haven't been reading at all lately 'cuz I can't seem to concentrate. Other than that, everything's lovely. How 'bout you? Tell me about life and things. |

I was just looking for something in my comments and then I forgot what I was looking for...anyway, this made ma laugh reeeeeal hard:
"Whimsical? More like sexual. That's me and my bitch on a night out on the town. I don't leave home without my cape and wand."
And also, HEY. |

he certainly was, but now he's happily gnawing away at some little log at the rainbow bridge in the ratty summerlands.

yep, still working. i actually have to work everyday next week, which is sucky. :/ except i'm not working on saturday because it's siren fest, wahoo!
and the cats are great! except kaili's getting old, so she's real slow and does this scary wheezing thing a lot which is kind of heartbreaking to watch. but other than that, all my feline friends are fantastic.
have you any small mammal friends yet? you be needin' some, i reckon. |

dandy! we got the guy back at home now. he's in a neck brace that makes him look like he's in the process of suing someone on account of whiplash, though. |

perhaps a few days off from work and other distractions to focus on your creative pursuits would be a good idea? but I can understand that a hundred other things can get in the way of that. my problem is usually my lack of self-discipline. I can't force myself to sit down and focus on the task at hand... but I'm getting better at it. also, I'm easily discouraged. I need to get over that, and maybe I'll be able create something great.
it's a bit past 11 am here, and I've been sleeping non-stop since I left you that last comment. I woke around 7, my chest/throat/head still hurting, and now I'm about to go back to bed. maybe I'll have a bit more energy after getting some more sleep...
I hope you have a good day! |

very well, thanks! I've been having a touch time sleeping due to a sinus infection, but it's getting better. I put myself in a medically induced coma over night, ahaha. the many pills I had to take gave me a much desired (and needed) night of sleep. so I woke at 7 am, basically crawled to kitchen for some water, rested on the couch until I gained enough energy to get up and make myself breakfast, and here I am.
other than that, EVERYTHING'S GREAT! :D and I'm finally writing again, which is the best thing that could happen to me right now. I'm extremely excited about it.
and how about you? what is going on in your seemingly busy life? |

ah, i knew i could count on you, old chap. i've been meaning to check out mgmt and bon iver. mgmt went to the school my sister goes to, so we're practically related.
and many of the bands you listed are playing for free in nyc this summer, so this may work out famously!
and i have been well, for the most part i suppose. i hope your summer is going swell! not too hot in the golden state, i hope. |

I always have some kind of pain to whine about when I talk to you. :( it lies in my back this time. but it isn't anything major; it's actually been a problem for quite some time now. my doctor sent me to have an MRI, which was the longest 30 minutes of my life (I was terrified), then referred me to a specialist. I then took a 2 hour roadtrip to see a neurosurgeon (we couldn't find one that would work with a 17 year old nearby) about it. he told me I have three slipped discs in my back, from an injury dating back to 2004. the pain has been coming and going since then, but it was more bothersome than ever this time around, which is why my doctor did more than pump me full of painkillers. I was so worried that he'd tell me I needed surgery, but thankfully, he said it will heal itself! I still have some doubt in my mind, though. the pain has been recurring since the initial injury, so I'm thinking that it will go away again, then one day I'll be crippled by it again. and have to repeat the process.
but until the pain goes away, I have endless painkillers and muscle relaxers that I haven't been taking. I'm not sure why. I'm actually kind of worried about my intake of pills, so I only take the ones that are necessary on a daily basis, and the others only when the pain is unbearable. but it has been very minimal lately, only hurting after long periods of sleep.
okay! done rambling about that. sorry.
I've got Ham on Rye, but I haven't read it yet. it's in my to-read pile, along with about 20 other books. >.> I do love his poetry, though. and I'll be sure to let you know how I like Naked Lunch. people have been insisting that I read it for years now, and I'm just now getting around to it.
yesss, I should be in bed, as well. I have too much energy for 2:30 in the morning. I should put it to good use. I think I'll spend the rest of the night unpacking (I still haven't finished and I moved into the new place nearly a month ago), and around dawn, possibly go for a morning walk (if I'm still conscious)!
so goodnight, have a good sleep, and a good day to follow. |

if you insist!
Dry by Augusten Burroughs
Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs
Notes of a Dirty Old Man by Charles Bukowski
Sifting Through The Madness For The Word, The Line, The Way: New Poems by Charles Bukowski
What Matters Most Is How Well You Walk Through the Fire by Charles Bukowski
Napalm & Silly Putty by George Carlin
o wowz. almost all B's! I didn't notice until just now. and as you can probably tell, I'm going through a Charles Bukowski obsession. ah, I love the man's poetry.
got any book recommendations?! =D I'm open to anything. I spend almost all of my money that doesn't go toward bills on books. it's pathetic. I'll have an entire library in my bedroom by the end of the year.
anywho, how have you been, Boo? |
