Travelling USA

Hey guys, me and a mate are travelling your turf for a couple of months starting November.
We're flying to New York, travelling down to either north or south carolina, then going across to California, LA, Vegas etc.

Just wondering if anyone has got any decent places we should stop off at?
Or know of any good clubs/bars along the way?

By the way, we are 21, male and from England and have never been to the states before!

Oh and we'll be spending Xmas/New Year either on the west coast or in Florida, so if anyone knows of anything going on let me know!
