How do I get over a guy I've liked for along time?

So okay, basically there is this guy who i really liked for a long time. Stuff happened between us before and that left me being all 'is he gay/bi does he like me etc' so now, almost 7 months on hes finally said he doesnt think he likes me and he cant think about relationships right now cus his little cousins dying of leukimia and stuff. So even though a part of me still really wants to hope theres a future there, I know i cant want that anymore and its best to just put it behind me. Part of the reason i joined here is to meet new guys xD but i just dont wanna hurt cus of this guy anymore. Any ideas? Oh i cant really cut off all contact with him cus i see him everyday weekday and we're kinda really good friends and id feel bad if i just left him :/ kay thanks in advance ^_^

I been in the exact situation pal. You shouldn't cut off contact with him. If you do than the only thing you going to feel is a even bigger longing towards this guy, plus your good friends. Love is like drugs. You going to have to wing yourself out of him and think of this boy as your friend. Usually moving on to a new person for a while helps. I must also tell you that it might take a while to get over it...and also tell you that sometimes the unexpected can happen as well (and that was meant in a good way)

Time will erase love. before that, the thing you need to do is waiting. Keep in touch with him but not so much. do something you like, maybe working hard is really a good choice. I don't think you should meet another guy immediately, that will make you feel sorry for both of them.
