I’m amazed that anyone has the courage to take a bullet for anyone else. I’m 99% sure I’d be way too terrified to anything really, and I certainly wouldn’t think less of anyone for not taking a bullet for someone else.

JavaTC does have a point. Would you sacrifice yourself just so a few months later he/she can totally forget about you and just find another partner?

Of course they'll never forget him, I've never forgot my grandfather who taught me so much. However, you come to accept that they're one, unless you're over emotional, but it's not like it plagues your life for 20 years to come, life goes on without them.
Besides, if you wouldn't have dived, it might not have been a fatal blow and the woman may have lived, and you could go on and contribute more towards society. You never know how these things end, so it's better to wait and see how it pays out rather than kill yourself for someone else. Sounds heroic when you talk about it, but think about the kind of sacrifice that is.

If someone died saving me I would never forget him or her...
I would mourn for a long time...
But I would easily fall in love again and be with someone else...When you're gone I'll still be Bloody Mary...

I definitely would not. I would be depressed for a long time, in fact seeing a loved one killed would be horrible, and incredibly disrespectful if you went a dated someone else shortly after. It would take me a long time maybe 5 years to even think about dating again.
