Reading a book in bed always puts me to sleep.

Try Melatonin and Valerian Root supplements.

I occasionally get that. Like a couple of times a year I just don't fall asleep usually when my sleeping pattern is fucked. If it gets to like 7 am, I get up, shower have some tea and go out and then you crash that night.

Valerian Root really helped me. and GNC store. 250 mg. if they doesnt work you can up to 500mg, but still buy the 250mg not the 500mg.. the 500mg dont have everything taking 2 250mg have.

Napping during the day can make it more difficult to sleep at night. If you feel like you have to take a nap, limit it to 30 minutes before 3 p.m.

    Read before bed.
Things like TV/Computer are stimulants and will delay you feeling tired.

Also, don't exercise at night, it releases endorphins and energizes you.

Start going to support groups for men with testicular cancer and cry. (kudos if you get the reference)

Seriously though, perhaps drinking a glass of warm milk half an hour or so before bed might help? Or it might make things worse if you're lactose intolerant, but that's another story.

Basically, an hour before bed start going into relax mode. And by relax, I don't mean sit in front of the TV with Cheetos. Lay in bed and - as suggested - read a book or something. Dim the lights, and just wait to doze off.

Don’t eat stimulating foods within three hours of trying to fall asleep – lying horizontally interrupts digestion and may cause heartburn. Also, eating high fat and carbohydrate foods might help make you groggy and help you fall asleep, but calorie-conscious people may need to weigh the benefits of such an approach to insomnia.
