At least down here in central Florida. I'm an ex-Folk Nation member. Though I'm no longer in the gang, I still affiliate myself with plenty of people who are. And if there's one thing I still retain from bein' an active member is my intense dislike of Bloods....

That's somethin' that I shared with my lil' cousin. I put him on to the Fam'. He would walk around all day yellin' "all is one" and "6 poppin', 5 droppin'". We were at the mall one night, the nga spotted a Slob, chased him down and threw hands with him just on GP. I was proud to call him kinfolk. Then he gets locked up on a drug charge. Does a year and a day in FDC. The nga left county screamin' "7-4 TILL THE WORLD BLOW".

He gets out, and I don't see him for a week. Then my step-brother comes to me tellin' me how some nga (that matched my cousin's description) was red flaggin' at my mom's house on a visit. I dismissed it as I thought it was his (my cousin's) mom's boyfriend. A week after that, I catch him in our hometown walkin' around RED FLAGGIN'. I see him before he sees me. He's in the streets suwoopin' this and da da doein' that (wasn't even any cops).

This nga switched sides on us. And to make matters worse, he switched to Folks' most hated enemy. You don't fuckin' do that! That's a big fuckin' no-no. You don't switch gangs, man. You don't fuckin' do that! Man, I'm so goddamn heated right now.

What's even sadder is that my best friend's father was killed by 5 men in a gang, 2 of them were caught and claimed they were intimidated by him because of what he was wearing and the looks he gave them. This was a 37 year old man with a phD and a wife with 2 kids. His life was taken away because of one of YOUR associates. So you're not getting any sympathy from me. Go cry to one of your buddies about this.

Because it's not juvenile. It's not just a simple "he wears red, I wear black". Just like it's not "he wears Middle Eastern civilian clothes, I wear army fatigues". Just like it's not "he's an atheist, I'm a Christian".

Hell, to make that statement is just like an atheist goin' out of his way to disrespect a Christian for what he believes in. It goes deeper than colors, man. There are beliefs, rules, and regulations that follow gang life. Loyalty and respect are major factors in this life style. Just because you don't understand that lifestyle does not automatically make it "juvenile".

1. You ask why one would choose to be on Crips or Blood. The majority of the time, when people join gangs, it's out of survival instinct. Most gang members come from broken families. They were raised in chaos, and doin' whatever. With a gang, they feel like they're a part of a family, due to the loyalty and respect that gangmembers are supposed to have for their set. There's order in gangs.

2. Like I said to Mr_Quick, if you're not familiar with the lifestyle's teachings, even a little bit, you have no right to make snide ass comments like "other than the fact that they're not on your side". In my eyes, this makes you the moron speakin' on somethin' that he has no understanding of.

3. Unless your best friend's father stayed in Lake County, FL at the time of his death, then MY associates had shit to do with it. Don't put that shit on me for somethin' that I had no idea happened until I read your text.

I dunno about you, but if I knew a Christian who converted to another religion and suddenly other Christians that I knew started raging at them for being "fake" and a "traitor" or whatever, I'd consider that pretty juvenile too. There's a substantial difference between following one's own beliefs and getting butthurt because other people don't agree. People's beliefs and circumstances change throughout life; unless they do something to you as a result, what they decide to do with their life is their business, not yours.

You're real fond of telling people who are bullied to "man up" and quit letting other people get to them, right?
