What do you think?
I already see people whining and saying it's ruining our freedom. For people who have government healthcare in their countries, are you guys struggling anymore than the US? Why are people so mad here in the US about it?

Eh. Americans are just finicky about everything every president ever does, ever. And we always swear each decision is violatin' our constitutional rights if we don't agree with it.
We Americans hate change. Nuff said.

The U.S. is angry because, due to the nature of the US, we have many very wealthy people. Those people tend to have a significant amount of power. They feel it is unfair that they are allowed to keep less of the money they earn so that the government can pay for people who are too lazy to get jobs to go see the doctor.
Obviously, you can see where I stand on the issue. I have no problem with healthcare for those still in the process of making a life in which they can support themselves independent of any government assistance. I do have a problem with all the people who make no attempt at an education OR career, and are still supported by the government.

Whatever. The most controversial part, namely the individual mandate, isn't all that sweeping to begin with. I wouldn't have cared if they had struck it down. The measure which allows me to stay on my dad's health insurance past adulthood is all I care about.

Roberts is the smartest guy in Washington. His ruling is unmitigated genius.
He insulated the Supreme Court from criticism from the Left, leaves the issue as a campaign issue for the Right, makes everyone recognize that the ACA is a TAX, AND manged to curtail the runaway powers of the Commerce Clause."Oh, you think darkness is your ally. You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see the light until I was already a man. By then, it was nothing to me but blinding! The shadows betray you because they belong to me." -Bane

While I'm not surprised by the Obamacare ruling, I'm surprised by how they justified it. I really thought Roberts would say that Congress has the right to regulate commerce; therefore, the individual mandate would be constitutional.
I think that Roberts is more sensitive to the legitimacy of the Court. I haven't read much into the opinion, but I figured that he would rule in favor, write the opinion, and restrict it. This way, he would make liberals happy, but the conservatives would appreciate the restrictions. I'm not sure how much it was restricted, though, if at all.
I'm undecided about Obamacare. I see its pros and cons. I say that we should give it a try at least. It may help. If things go badly, then it could be repealed I assume. I'm not too crazy about buying insurance when I turn 26 since I'm considered high risk, but maybe this will help our country somehow.

Under the ACA they can't hike your premiums for being high risk so it shouldn't be too bad.

Oi! We'll be having none of that here!
Yorkshire is a beautiful green & pleasant land. Yes we may be a bunch of tight, miserable buggers but at least we don't have to put up with Southerners. Any who arrive by accident are immediately packed off back down south.
As for the actual thread now we've dealt with the blatant racism on show there by Ali
Just chill Americans, we've had it for 60 years, it's brilliant if you fund it properly.

This can potentially result in the loss of roughly. . . I believe 800,000 jobs is what was predicted. Guess we're just gonna see, huh?

How can treating more people in a healthcare system lead to less jobs in healthcare?

from my knowledge on subject i dont see much problems about your healthcare reform. I guess it again boils down to what mr. quick often says that Americans dont trust each other.
