Both are amazing bands but I slightly prefer Green Day!! Green Days stuff before and including Dookie was much better than what they've released recently but hopefully their new albums sound like there early stuff!!

Linkin park is still fantastic. They do not produce as many "radio favorites" as they used to, but their albums are much more deeper now. You have to listen to the WHOLE album to like the music.

Really? You are making yourself choose between Green Day or Linkin Park? You have to go with the most influential and one of the greatest artists still making music today-Green Day. Linkin Park has gone too mainstream and they did start out as a great rock band. Anyway, Green Day has been here for about 20 years or so and they are not going anywhere any time soon.

Green Day had it's freakin awesome moments in the 90's. American Idiot was a step into a different direction. I enjoyed the album itself, but not the immediate descent.

Linkin Park has moments where I question what they're doing, but I have alot of respect for their music.In A Thousand Suns They pretty much say in the coverslip that they abandoned commercial appeal in favor of what they believe to be art. Tat album was freaking beautiful in that sense, because there was so much expressionism going on.

Both bands have a solid career. Green Day ranges from Punk to Alternative to something resembling pop, while Linkin Park literally has songs that can fit in every genre.

Think of it this way; Meteora was a predominately metal album, Minutes to Midnight was rock, and A Thousand Suns went Electronic. They like to experiment.

They're both good in different ways, but I'm more looking forward to seeing what becomes of Linkin Park. Green Day scares me with Uno! Dos! Tres!
