No. It's the third gen of the core ix series. I believe first it was Clarksfield, then Sandy bridge, now it's Ivy bridge.

That's not counted as it uses the same technology as normal sandybridge. It's like how Nehalem was used on 1366 and 1156. Same idea is with Sandybridge.

Generations increase by the technology inside or the die size, I cant remember. It might be die size, since Ivy Bridge went down to 22nm from SB 32nm, with Nehalem being 45nm before it.

All technical stuff. Still, crazy to find a Core i3 in a tiny pc like this Intel one.
