Right now, I'm more into pets...
I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that my roommate just announced she's pregnant...
With her work schedule, all four of us are going to have to help take care of the baby, and I'm not so sure I'm ready for "baby duty." Sure, they're cute...but I'm sure it won't be as easy as taking care of our apartment pets(one cat, one dog).

My Mum has owned a nursery since the 90's and it has put me completely off kids. I very much dislike going there lol.
However I do like my cats but would never consider a pet as a substitute for a child. I guess its different when its your own child, so you have to like them and I would rather have kids in the future than not.

Both - their innocence is uncanny.
The philosophers and theologians, the beautiful people, had their jobs in the monasteries and universities but science owes more to the people who sold their soul, or at least their health, to the devil for knowledge. These were the people who actually went down to the laboratories and did the dirty work to see how the world actually works.

Animals. You can leave them in a box and it'll be alright. If you do that to a baby its ~child abuse.
