Just be honest with your parents, and try giving yourself some motivation to show up to class. Here, you fail classes if you don't have regular attendance - regardless if you did all the work and aced the tests - so passing the class and not wasting my time was enough motivation for me. I skipped constantly in the semester after my dad died, and then failed all my classes that semester because I didn't have regular attendance. After that, I almost never skipped a class again - especially not in college, because we automatically failed the class if we skipped it more than twice, and since college costs money, I wasn't going to risk that. But yeah, think of something to motivate you to go to class - even just wanting to stop skipping class is enough motivation to go. Show yourself that you can do it - make it a challenge for yourself.
