We didn't have it at my school but someone I know was learning it in school, and she found it really bad. She said the teacher didn't even know German and was teaching them entirely wrong pronunciation. I myself have been studying German on my own time for six years now - the conjugation and such is similar to French, which I am fluent in, so it wasn't too difficult to teach myself as long as I had books and whatnot to learn from.

Well it's dying in our school and all the really stupid people take it... we use the Deutsch Aktuell Series and do 8 chapters a year.

Our school offers two years of German and we use the Deutsch Aktuell series. We go through all the chapters and the course is pretty tough. You need a good memory to pass with a decent grade. I studied hard and still got a C on the final.

Here in the UK we used "Echo" textbooks. Teacher was shit, awaiting my result in August. Hopefully a B.
