Okay, so... I will admit I am probably super underweight. I am 5'5'', 102 pounds. I have just a really petite build... and I am super self-conscious about it. I always catch my boyfriend checking out meatier, curvier girls, and it makes me so freakin' jealous, I have to bite back tears. I just want to have a little more meat, it would certainly make me feel better about myself. I eat like a 600 pound man, but I inherited my mother's metabolism. So no matter how much I eat, I don't gain anything. Or, if I do gain a little bit, it is all in the wrong places. I am looking for an overall weight gain, not just a beer belly.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hahaha, I'm 5'9" and 100lbs. I know it's different, me being a guy... but still. :p
Don't let it get to you. It's better to have self-respect than a "fuller" body. :)
But if you just can't stand it... eat lots of healthy foods, some loaded with protein, like peanuts. And exercise daily. Not to a point where you're She-Hulk, but 30 minutes of regular 'ol exercise. :D

I have the same problem! I am convinced that it's some sort of eating disorder.. I am 5'4 and usually 110. But when I'm sick, I get so skinny. I was just recently sick and lost 6 pounds in basically 5 days.. so now I'm 104. I drink lots of milk, like 4 glasses a day! I think maybe we should both try protein shakes? Just an idea. Good luck!

to gain weight you need to eat more calories than your body is using... so I'd say stop watching what you're eating and have the pizza, ice cream, burger... definately not gonna do any harm

Try and go on a 3000 calorie a day diet.
You may think you eat alot. But in reality you probably aren't.
Don't eat when you're hungry, eat when you aren't full.
Workout, doesn't have to be extremely intense, but you'd much rather build some muscle than have all of those excess calories go to fat and such.
General consensus for weight gain is for every 3500 calories over
http://www.shapefit.com/dailycalorie-calc.html
you gain about 1 pound. So 500 calories over a day = 1 pound/week etc. etc.
Workouts can be as simple as running stairs in 5-10 minute sets and doing hindu pushups.
Source: been trying to put on weight over the past month or so and have managed 15-20 pounds on a 4k/day fluctuating diet with moderate amounts of working out.

I did. He was like, " I am so sorry, I didn't think you were that offended by it." (As he is checking out a girl). *Eyeroll*
Might as well be talking to a damn wall.
I am usually not a jealous person, I am really not. But what can I say, I am a girl... It's in my nature.
But anywho. Lemme fill you guys in more about my eating habits:
Fast food, EVERY day just about.
I eat a lot of pastas, meets, fruits, candy, sweets, pops, etc.
I don't have 'designated' meal time. I just eat when I am hungry, eat when I am bored, etc.
I am also not very active. Like, at all. I guess I could work on walking everyday, when the weather warms up a little."I've always felt that Chevrolet made

Cardio will just make you lose weight. Eat every 3 hours, carb/protein/fat ratio should be 60/30/10, every meal. Try hitting the gym 3 days a week and do full body routines for 45 minutes a day. This way the weight you gain WILL have shape and not just pure fat.

You're metabolism is fast. No matter what you eat you're going to stay the same size. I'm 20 and I'm 5"2 92 lbs. My gramma's the same size as me, believe it or not! But what I can say is find confidence in your body, don't be so self conscious because you'll never be happy... I'm trying to gain a little more but in a healthy way. So eat peanut butter, lots of corn products, protein, wheat bread or regular bread but wheat is more healthy! & that should help you gain a little. Also make sure you don't skip a meal, it breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in between. Eventually you're metabolism will start to slow down as you get older so make sure you have a routine of what you eat and how many times a day & when.
And for the workout part, I think it's a good idea that you at least start walking more. But instead of eating when you get bored, do some sit ups or crunches, go take a walk or run some stairs... I hope this helps girl!

If you want to put on weight, you should work out, to insure that you put on muscle and not fat. Healthy weight gain, just like healthy weight loss, takes time and requires a conscious effort to apply good habits. Have meals with the right balance of proteins, carbohydrates, and the right kinds of fat (such as unsaturated and monounsaturated fats, olive oil, canola oil, pistachios, almonds and walnuts). Eat foods higher in calories, vitamins, and minerals, as opposed to higher in fat or sugar. Pack more nutritious calories in each serving. For example, you may add grated cooked eggs to mashed potatoes, ground chicken to soups and gravies, cheese in casseroles, eggs, and soups, and nonfat dried milk in soups, shakes, milk, and mashed potatoes. If you get too full too fast, try having more high-calorie foods or slices of foods as opposed to consuming the whole thing (raisins versus grapes, granola and Grape Nuts versus corn flakes, mango slices versus the whole mango). Limit drinking beverages to a half-hour before and after a meal. Drink mixed juices (apple/berry, peach/orange/banana as opposed to one juice beverages) for a higher calorie intake. With moderation, you may add in good fat sources to meals such as nuts, avocado, olives, and fatty fish (salmon and mackerel). Snack in between meals. Nuts, dried fruits, and yogurt are good options, but it's also important to find nutritious foods that you will enjoy.

Yeah, I changed my mind. I'm kind of tired of jumping through hoops just to have someone take a picture of me. And I wanted to do pin-up/car modeling, and that targets more of the men's fantasies of a 'perfect woman', which is translated as skinny waist chicks with a little curve to them.

If you want to gain weight fast without getting fat, then you bulk with the same principles as if you were on a cutting diet. Choose high calorie foods when given a choice.

I used to be less than 100 pounds.. and then I got put on this medication called zyprexa. It was supposed to help my mood but it didn't. All it did was make me gain 30 pounds in one month and sleep all the time.. You might not want to get prescribed it.. and I'm not sure that gaining 30 pounds in one month is healthy. But it does work so I'm just throwing that out there.

Get a gym membership, go buy some whey protein, go workout every second day for an hour, have a protein shake after, repeat for 3 months and you will probably start to see some changes.
Thats just what I recommend to start with, you can start dabbling around with work out programs after you get used to a gym and proper form and what not.
