i didnt mean you literally are the center i meant humans
that this is all just a big waiting room that god created for us, for no reason whatsoever
"i got it, i'll create a tiny speck planet in a universe with trillions of other planets, create many slowly evolving species and put them on it - give them no evidence of proof of my existence, and the challenge will be to remain ignorant and believe in me regardless of their upbringing or whats happened in their lives, and in the end i will reward them by letting them continue on doing what they are doing, only this time they dont die"
thats it for you? thats "everything" that is? in all dimensions in all space and time. its just here, for you to get to your buffet. this is all created for you?
why not just skip right to the afterlife?
this isnt gonna work as a debate your just gonna throw all the usual christian mindless dribble at me like im debating a tape recorder. you believe what you are told to believe. its just sad to see so many locked off human minds, people living in ignorance simply because they are too afraid.
we wont see whos right in the end, because its the end. we're dead.
you really think we're gonna meet up in some celestial party some all you can eat buffet talking to each other in a conscious state? so basically after you die, you just keep on living? why die in the first place? and what happens after that? what happens before we were born? my mothers vagina can create ethereal souls that cannot die?
not that it matters, whether you believe or dont it doesnt change anything. like i've said theres no point in arguing.
i just hope when you have kids and they start asking questions, you respond with "i dont know" instead of handing them a bible
you already know what death is like - just like before you were born. you didnt exist.
you get some brief time here so enjoy it and try to help humanity evolve intellectually and help put an end to faith, worship and religious dogma.

@jenntastic
Religion is based off of FAITH! NOT on evidence. Its actually a bit ignorant to ignore scientific theory.

theres no point in arguing whats probably a 17 year old female socialite.
she'll either discover these things on her own or she'll continue the way she is.
can turn people into thinkers...well..you can - but they have to want to do it on their own.
almost any human, if they just try to open their minds for 10 seconds and TRY to prove their beliefs wrong (which is what a real thinker does, always looking to be proved wrong) because all that matters is the truth.
there is no reason AT ALL to think that gods, afterlifes etc. are anything more than just ideas created by primitive human minds which stem from our most basest needs and fears.Last edited by bustyasianchick; 05-31-2011 at 10:47 PM.

its belief that we have the problem with
its just choosing what to think based on nothing its just picking what you like
in this universe all we have is our science and brains
and you did NOT just say scientific theory supports the bible? when amazingly almost everything in the bible which was stated as fact, has been disproven.
man if god had just whispered into that guys ear 2000 years ago "psssst, the world is round" woulda been enough for me but no. they list off "every animal" yeah turns out its only animals around where the thing was written, no kangaroos because they hadnt discovered australia yet - world is 6000 years old. yada yada.
its so fucking sad and pathetic that we believe in this shit

There are similarities that all religions share, and similarities between science and religion. The fact the two are separated is quite funny. What is even funnier is that people seem to care how others believe the world was created. In the end, does it really matter? The universe and life was created, not matter how. Believing in a deity, deities, or not doesn't change that or make anyone any better. We all have morals and beliefs we follow regardless. It only gives us a little bit of comfort to know, but in the grand scheme it really does not matter.

that's an extreme... i'm not like that. most christians aren't either. just because thats what you hear on the news or from history or whatever does not mean that all of us are like that. those people clearly interpret the bible wrong, and do not love their neighbor like it says to.

some christians believe that the world is 6,000 years old. some don't. theres evidence that either one may be true. did you know that an airplane that crashed into a glacier was frozen so far in just 40 years later, that using whatever scientific method they use to date those things told them it was there for 2,000 plus years? and carbon dating isn't even that accurate either. but on another note, some christians believe that there was a long time between "God created the heavens and the Earth" and when he actually created everything else. Which would indeed give the earth enough time to become 2 billion years old, like scientists say.

did you just say theres scientific evidence that the earth is 6,000 years old?
the earth is 4,500,000,000 years old ---- not 6,000
pretty small gap between dinosaurs and the crusades
you're picking and choosing hun like all religious people do
10000000 studies that say its 4.5 billion - plane incorrectly dated in a glacier OHHHO they're wrong!
and theres a HELL OF A LOT more methods than just carbon dating

Carbon dating is merely one method of radiometric dating; it serves a purpose up to a certain range. If all of carbon dating became irrelevant it would not matter.
However, carbon dating is extremely accurate for the time period it is used for.

Are you fucking serious.
Just because you arent extreme doesnt mean bad things are done in the name of god.
YOU said "It only gives us a little bit of comfort to know, but in the grand scheme it really does not matter."
In the 'grand scheme', it really DOES matter, because it actually DOES affect others when these horrible things done in the name of god happen.

so many people i know who arent allowed to do things - torn up and destroyed and shunned by other things they do
just because it doesnt always kill doesnt mean it doesnt hurtLast edited by bustyasianchick; 06-01-2011 at 05:40 PM.

And I thought this board would have dried up without Z running around making an ass out himself and his religion. Now we have believers and non-believers taking his place. How entertaining.
Two parts nicotine, one part alcohol, three parts gasoline and a dash of pure fucking hate.

Uh........no. They actually use a lot of the money to help the community and shit. Plus, rent ain't cheap, ya know?
Ok, that's on the dude's conscience then, but if he's worried about not paying something tells me his priorities aren't in the right order...Ask me anything and you shall learn

Wow, you really are prejudiced. Did a priest touch you as a child?
Also, I hope you realize that not every priest, the grand majority of them even, are not child molesters. It's like you anti-religious people don't even try with witty insults anymore
