I used to an Arabian actually. Very beautiful! I actually have minature horses and I love them! They are just so cute and tiny, especially when they are babies!

I think Arabians are absolutely stunning....
They just have this crazy grace and elegance, and they seem to just float wherever they go. They also have plenty of character, off and on the saddle, and enough endurance for three horses!
However, the only thing I dislike about the arabian is their lack of size..... (average is 15.2 hands... wtf?) Some of them get big, but it is not very common...
I also like the quarter horses and paints... they are a decent size, big ol' buff horses. They are very loyal. They are easy to ride for a leisurely stroll, but are willing to get up and move (despite their lack of endurance... they are like the drag cars of the horse world).
I used to have a tobiano paint/arabian mix... She was amazing. She was a big, gentle giant with a hint of arabian attitude. And she pretty much had an arabian frame (with a tad bit more meat on her bones), but she still got the size of a paint. Black and white, stunning. She just floated. She had this amazing speed, but the endurance too. I was training her for barrels, because she would have been absolutely BRILLIANT.
So all riding reasons aside, she was like a puppy. She had this amazing personality that just wanted to be loved. She would follow me around and damn near fall asleep if i scratched behind her ears. I used to hop up and lay on her back while she grazed in the pasture, and she was gentle, as if she was carrying a baby. But she was still-free minded, curious, hyper, and exciting.
I have always felt, because of her, that it is much more rewarding to have a mix... find two horses that really catch your eye (not just physically, though... research personalities). Because then you have this odd, unpredicted personality that you will absolutely die for,. Sure you can't show them and make lots of money, but that's no reason to NOT get a horse you know you will fall in love with!
