That is most def a new method that I've seen. I just keep seeing the wet makeup sponge method.

I have this going on. I used Nubar Fire Sparkle instead of what this person used though.

how do i keep nailpolish from going on the skin? That lady has clear stuff, what is it?

She looks like she is using tape, I personally use Vaseline since the tape tends to cause problems. The polish rubs right off with the Vaseline when you're ready for clean up which is nice. And if some does stick to the skin itself use an old eyeshadow brush dipped in polish remover to clean it.

Heather, do you use vaseline when just doing something messy like that, or do you use it when just painting your nails? I'm super messy when I paint my nails because I'm too lazy to get up and do it on a flat surface, I do it laying down.

Yes, I'm extremely messy with my nails. I used to just use the shower method where I'd peel the polish off in there but it was ruining the skin around my nails so I knew I needed to find another way. I saw a water marble on youtube where the girl said she used vaseline so I tried it with just regular old polish. It actually takes a few tries to perfect the method. At first I wasn't cleaning the nail beds very well and my polish would just peel off the edge since they weren't sticking to nail just vaseline.
So, if you do try it... use a q-tip to apply thin and I mean thin layers around the nails (I like to let it absorb in for a few minutes before continuing but that is all on you). Now vaseline will get on the nail bed it is unpreventable so you need to get a new clean q-tip out and tip it in polish remover and clean the nail bed (my squeak when they are clean... I don't know if yours do that) that way your polish has a clean surface to adhere to. And if you make a mess the vaseline won't take off just use an old makeup brush to to touch ups.
I know nail bloggers use the makeup brushes to that smooth clean edge near the cuticle so that is some food for thought.I know that the world is not going to end in 2012 because Marty McFly traveled to 2015.
