A 1988 Chevy Callaway Sledgehammer Corvette
http://www.z06-corvette.com/super/co...ehammer-02.jpg
Twin Turbo 350 V8, 880HP, 0-60 in 3.9, 0-100 in 9.4, 10 second 1/4 and was the fastest production vehicle until the Veyron showed up. Held a good speed record (254.6mph) for close to 20 years and is still ALOT cheaper than a Veyron and is just as fun to drive.

And that he blinks sideways.
All we know is...he's called the stig.
Inquire inside.

You've never driven an S2000 have you?

And let us not forget you wanted a truck or an old person's car as your dream car.

Yet you lecture me about wanting a 2 door sports car as a dream car? Oh the irony.Last edited by Stigs_cousin; 07-05-2010 at 07:49 PM.

Fastest production vehicle until the Bugatti Veyron?
Strange that it was never recognised as a world record for production cars by Guinness World Records.
Equally strange that Callaway themselves state on their website::
http://www.callawaycars.com/A derivative of the Twin Turbo Corvette, Project Sledgehammer, recorded an official speed of 254.76 mph at Ohio's Transportation Research Center in October of 1989. The car was driven to to Ohio and returned to Connecticut on public roads making it the fastest street driveable car in the world.
One can only imagine why they specifically did not use the word 'production'.

2005 Koenigsegg CCR top speed 242 mph http://www.sportscarcup.com/koenigsegg-ccr/
1988 Callaway Sledgehammer top Speed 254.7 mph http://auto-specs.zercustoms.com/c/c...fications.html
2006 Bugatti Veyron Top Speed 253 mph http://www.rsportscars.com/bugatti/2...ti-veyron-164/
You can get a 1988 Callaway for around $100k now, try geting a Veyron for anywhere close to that. All I se different about them as far as speed goes is that the Callaway is only a second slower in the 0-60 and a second slower in the 1/4. Its the best Chevy ever

I'm going with a dream car that I can actually someday get. That sounds like a good idea.
